Communities Team invites our students , parents and tutors to a free special view of the spectacular exhibition "Babylon". This fascinating exhibition will explore both the archaeology of Babylon (605-562BC) and its height of power during the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar II and the rich legacy in modern art and thought inspired by the city.

Residential and/or Daily Chinese Culture Summer Workshops 2009

This workshop gives you an opportunity to learn and experience: Traditional Chinese Arts & Crafts, Martial Arts (Chinese Kung Fu), Traditional Chinese Dance, Mandarin and other skills.  There are going to be professional Chinese Teachers from R.O.C (Taiwan).

Places are limited, so sign up as soon as possible. Courses run from 16th - 21st August (6 days & 5 nights for residential.) The rate is £90 per week (excluding boarding). It costs £150 per week (Including boarding and three meals.) Students must be age 10+. The deadline will be the 30th of April. Please contact school office for application form.

1. Create a well-organised environment in which everyone can work comfortably and has clear expectations of behaviour that supports learning
2. Agree what pupils need to learn, and teach them in a way that engages their interest and enthusiasm
3. Keep a record of what they have learnt, celebrate what they have achieved, and, with their and their parents' permission, pass on information about what they have learnt to other schools and organisations
4. Provide teaching resources that are well matched to the pupil's needs, and of the highest possible quality
5. Set out what we aim to achieve for our children, make plans, and keep these under review
6. Find out about other organisations with similar aims, and work with them whenever we can
7. Ask pupils, parents and carers, teachers and volunteers to help us judge how well we are doing, and plan how to improve our service
8. Recruit staff and volunteers openly and fairly, and give them the support and supervision they need to do their jobs and carry out their roles effectively
9. Make sure that children and adults are safe at all times when they are in our care, by adopting, implementing and reviewing policies and procedures to protect them, and by arranging Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) checks

2 hour taster workshop - a mixture of drama activities with focus on Chinese New Year

 

The school has been approached by Yellow Earth Theatre to join the 2012 Olympics with partnerships with Beijing students. I have announced this news in autumn 2008 and few parents contact me showing interests.  Yellow Earth Theatre is offering an exciting opportunity to experience the drama activates with focus on Chinese New Year. There will be a short 5 minute presentation to parents of work at the end. This taster workshop will be led by one of their team of experience facilitators.
