China Earthquake Appeal

Dear colleagues, students and parents

I am writing to ask for your help and support, in the form of a donation to the Chinese people who are suffering from the serious earthquake which hit Sichuan Province in China earlier this week.

As you may already know, a lot of young Chinese students, sadly some were an only child of many families - were buried alive, along with their hopes and dreams of their parents. The death toll mounts as time passes. Words can not express the plight of these people is enormous.

I am sure you feel the same as I do that regardless of where we are from there is sympathy with the surviving parents and their huge loss. Since we are a symbol of Chinese Community and a learning place it seems fitting to donate to this cause. Sadly just my own efforts will be a drop in an ocean.

It's so hard to imagine what their families must be feeling; we all have children and may no harm ever come to our children but we can certainly see the enormity of this tragedy.
I urge all of you to support this cause and I most certainly will do every thing in my powers to help the most needy at this moment and as a school and community; this is a humanity call for help.
