British Museum Visit Change Of Day & Date

Dear Parents and Carers

We are very sorry to inform you that the British Museum; on a very short notice, have changed the date of the visit to : Saturday 9th February 2008, 9am to 10am and now this is the only possible date we can visit the museum with our students. We will still have refreshments at the Ford Centre from 10-11AM. I realise this may cause some disappointment but unfortunately it is out of our control.

If your child is participating in the Talk session on the same day at 2pm then may we suggest that, if suitable, you can either spend the time in between the end of official visit time, which will be from 10am to 1.45pm in or around the museum area or if you prefer to go out and return to the museum sharp at 1.45. I realise this is most inconvenient situation but we can only offer the best possible solution under these unforeseen circumstances. We have requested, British Museum to allocate a room for those students who are participating in these sessions.

Our students and parents are welcome to stay at the museum if they wish to stay longer than 11am at their leisure and leave when it is suitable for them. However, you will have to take responsibility for your child/children individually.

Once again, I would like to apologise for this change and hope that you will still support the school in this visit and have a good attendance.

We look forward to seeing you all. Please contact me if you have any queries.

Sincerely Yours

School Play Ground

Dear parents

I would like to raise a very important matter with all parents. It has been brought to my attention that during play times (twice 10 min breaks) during lessons some children wish to stay in class and some wish to go to the play ground. The teacher can only be in one place at once and therefore needs to monitor the children in the play ground.

I am sure you will all appreciate the fact that there are over 100 students at the school and each teacher has the responsibility for their own students but can not be at two places at once.

In light of this difficult situation our priority is the safety and happiness of the children; I have to request each parent to volunteer one week play ground duty so the teacher can remain in the class during break times with the children that do not wish to go outside to play. I am confident that you will support us in this as we aim to provide the best possible environment for your children.

The teachers will place a rota outside your child's class each parent would be requested to cover one week but if for some reason you can not commit a specific week then the teacher will have telephone numbers of all the parents in her class and you may contact the parent you wish to swap the day.

I hope you will agree this is the best possible solution to this situation and would like to thank you all for your understanding and support in this matter.

Sincerely Yours
